My least favourite month

Exhibit B on things to be positive about this month - books.

I love getting books for Christmas, and this month is a time for looking at them properly.

One of the books I always receive now is the Wildlife Photographer of the Year - portfolio 25. I have been getting these since portfolio 12. The competition is owned by the Natural History Museum, London, and is the most prestigious of its kind in the world. It has been running for over 50 years, and this last year saw 42,000 entries from 96 countries.

The images are fantastic, and way beyond me - time, skill, equipment and lots more. It's a fantastic read.
