An all day meeting at the end of a phone line; the alternative would have been a long train journey and an overnight stay away. I rarely drive down, but if I'd done it on this occasion I could have been seriously delayed by an incident...

They finally deigned to re-deliver the washing machine that they'd first turned up with last week. But poor Mr H has to grapple with the plumbing since they turned their noses up at our "extended waste pipe". Pah.
