When it's gone, It's gone, and that applies to Christmas cake and blip.  At the risk of preaching to the converted, have a read of this.  

Mike assures me that cake is not just for Christmas, or Easter or birthdays. Perhaps I should permanently have three cakes on the go - one lot of fruit soaking, one cake maturing and one in the cake tin!
