Duke of Marlborough

This is the figurehead from HMS Marlborough , a 131 gun battle sailing ship, it was saved when the ship was scrapped in 1925, she was the last of her kind to have such an adornment - she was built in 1855 and last went to sea in 1878, never having gone to battle - hurrah to that.

I saw it when I ventured into Gunwarf Quays to try and find a wheelie suitcase as , when I was coming home from Spain just before Christmas, the pull along handle came completely off which made for an interesting journey home , grrr
