Zucchini Bread, Perfected?

Part of the reason cooking & baking stresses me is that I am a bit of a perfectionist. I prefer recipes with explicit directions, leaving little to the imagination or assumption. If things are unclear or don't go well, I become easily irritated. Despite my discomfort in the kitchen, I'm enamored with the whole domestic pursuit. I am an avid recipe/cookbook collector with a pathetically-organized system (though rarely am I caught up with my intentions).

For a anxious cook/baker, I finally perfected my zucchini bread. I substituted applesauce for the oil in my old recipe, but it was sort of chewy & denser in texture than I preferred. So, I set out to doctor the ingredients & combined several recipes. My dad has a bumper crop of the veggies in his garden, so there is plenty to experiment with. I also have a few variations on tap for this base recipe which is now right on mark!
