Lettuce, choirs and Justin Bieber
Don't be fooled. I pigged out all day while I worked and compensated with courgetti bolognese for dinner followed by chocolate and cake. A January inspiration, I am not!
Today ended up being a working from home and childcare day as Angus had appointments in Manchester and a night out with old friends in the diary.
Of course, I took a call for some urgent new work that needed turning round today this morning didn't !? Should have turned it down given I was in school pick up but it was working with the NHS Choir that got the Christmas Number 1 to get some more press coverage so I couldn't resist. I also got to write the words Justin Bieber in a work context about eight times today (their single knocked his off the Number 1 spot) and as a Belieber that was somewhat exciting.
Fast forward 5 hours of frantic briefing, press releases, media lists and contracts, another client conference call - which I literally did outside the school gates - picking Squidge up, a trip to Sainsbury's and the library for new bedtime books, tea made, bath run, more work...and it was almost done. I am my own worst enemy sometimes. I love what I do but I push myself too far I think. Tomorrow we sell the story in to the media, just hope the new client is pleased.
Still haven't invoiced clients for December and am out all day tomorrow. Too. Busy.
Squidge was very happy if was a Mummy Pick Up and didn't seem to notice my stress. And she ate lettuce. For the first time at tea. So forget the new business win, that was the most exciting part of my day!
