I've been a little quiet lately with my blips. I've took the photos but not uploaded. I think I've not uploaded because i have nothing exciting to report. I'll post my photos anyway.

Todays photo is of our hand decorated Holly Cake.(christmas cake mmmm.) This is no ordinary hand decorated holly cake, it's an M&S holly cake and its lovely. Very lovely.

This week I've joined a healthy eating club. It's a well known one that counts things in points. Because I joined on line I've been able to work out my points and see what i should be eating before i attend the club tomorrow.

So, my points allowance yesterday was a long day because i worked a night shift so i was eating all night! However, ,being in the mode i did well and even when i got home. BUT

The holly cake was screaming for me to eat it. It's rude not to when it was a gift for xmas so i cut myself a small slice.

Now i have also installed an app on my phone and it has a bar code scanner so you can easily see how many points things are. It's brilliant and if it doesn't recognise the item you can create a food with the nutrition on the packet. It didn't recognise furniture polish!

So with my bar code scanner i scanned my holly cake. 100g = 19 points. So i weighed my little slice and it was little because I'm healthy eating to be mortified and discover it was 110g. I swore a little and thought I've cut it now I'll have to eat it so I did ignoring and not counting the light custard! If you forget you had it it doesn't count!

I didn't feel guilty for too long i was still just in my daily allowance and i have my weekly ones too in case of a night out, so all is good. UNTIL

I had a tunnocks caramel wafer - 9 points, a kit kat - 5 points, a penguin - 6 points and a fat free yoghurt - 3 points. Woops. A little over my daily allowance i think maybe.

After all this I had a little count on my app.
I had eated 53 points yesterday and with my allowance of 30 I was well over, however I'm waiting to see when i get on those scales if this weekly allowance on top of the daily allowance really works in weight management as i have nearly used them up too for this week.
