Golden Pavilion For Golden Boy

Soon after I arrived at Lodge Farm this afternoon in the golden hour I looked across at Nazeing cricket pavilion and it was shimmering gold, the windows reflecting the setting sun.

I don't know much about cricket but I know something phenomenal has happened this week. Ben Stokes hit the fastest double century for England, the second fastest in history, on day two of the second Test with South Africa in Cape Town. The year before last he was out for a golden duck and was so angry he broke his scaphoid when he punched a locker. Golden duck to golden ginger-haired boy, it was as though the pavilion was celebrating. :)
