Northern Flicker

I have to be careful and not spell it Flickr! ha    So many birds in the back yard and the flickers are fun to watch.  They are pretty big and to see them attack the suet feeder is very entertaining as they swing from side to side and scare off the smaller birds.  

The snow was a delightful interlude but I'm glad it is on it's way out.  We went to the library at the mall yesterday and got around fine, even with the slush in the parking lot.  The January sun was shining through a couple of thin breaks in the overcast and it looked so 'wintery' out there with the snow and grey skies.  I was wishing I was someplace much more scenic than the mall parking lot.
