Potter Nancy Smillie

Met Nancy Smillie the gifted potter who is returning to her roots and is now making beautiful pots again in Glasgow, which is great news for those of us who have collected her pots over the years.
 
Trained at Glasgow School of Art she tells me there is a resurgence in pottery despite the fact that most art colleges in Scotland have mothballed their ceramic departments (too expensive, too time consuming ) .
 
More and more people, I am told, say there is a national  revival in the arts and crafts movement as people crave for something that is hand made, bespoke and beautiful.
 
And Nancy Smillie confirmed it.
 
   
Meanwhile our yoga class resumed this morning after a three week break.
