Shelter from the storm

Where else do you go when you have charge of a three year old, you have planned to go to the park and there is a deluge of rain? Into the Cathedral of course!

This is the ceiling of the choir in Carlisle Cathedral. It is rather beautiful with its carvings and gold stars. At the top of the picture you can see I have managed to capture the lady. I am not certain of the story behind this, but a mirror has been placed in the aisle beneath it to enable people to see it, so it must have some significance. I will find out.


This blip is later than usual, as we arrived home at 5pm to find we had no power, a fault probably caused by lightning. By this time the sun was shining and it was very warm - crazy weather! We almost got the barbecue out, but went to eat out instead. We now have power restored.
