Changing Landscape

Eldest daughter made arrangements to be elsewhere, eldest son probably not awake, Twin 1 had a paper round, so has already been out and Twin 2 in Sweden for new year. So only my partner and I went out for a New Year Day walk.

The photo was taken from the top of the Braid Hills looking NW towards the Ochil Hills. In the foreground botton right is Craig House, new developments would spoil the look of Easter Craiglockhart hill. On the right is Corstorphine Hill and Edinburgh Zoo. On the left, the white areas are plastic sheets from Craigies Farm, a favourite coffee stop. Between the two are, left to right, the towers of the new Queensferry Crossing, the Forth Road Bridge and the Forth Rail Bridge. The Queensferry Crossing is due to open in 2016. In the background are the Ochils, which are higher than the Pentlands, this is why the higher peaks have snow on the top.

A pretty dark day for a walk over the Braid Hills and back via Frogston Road to avoid a known footpath quagmire spot.
