Mono Monday: Beginnings
Perth Town Hall in the background was built around 1866 and marks the beginnings of Public Works for this young city.
Built in a Victorian Free Gothic Style, with strong medieval overtones the Town Hall design has been compared with 14 -16th century village public buildings. The convict population were used to build this and Government House.

These days the Town Hall is dwarfed by all the modern buildings and surrounded by lots of public art. These lovely curved soaring columns made a great framing device to capture the old towers of the Town Hall.
