Dish of the Day

This evening the wind has dropped to 48 mph and it’s positively balmy.  When it wasn’t raining the wind was up, when the wind dropped water was delivered by the ton.  And not the metric tonne.  My mother phoned to say the Sunday papers arrived in Stromness at 5.50 p.m.  She was amazed to read about the relief of Mafeking.  There was no update of runners and riders in Musselburgh; but then there never is.
