Blip has mountains ....
and so much more .... (apologies to Hopkins).
Keep going everyone. Please keep pledging if you can or haven't yet.
I have been thinking about this on and off for much of today and feel passionate about it for so many reasons ...
Let's do something extraordinary and keep this site going.
If we did something extraordinary each day for the rest of the week and gave ourselves a tenner each time we might be able to make it.
Let's just treat ourselves for a week and pledge for the future of blip.
I thought about it today .... I don't really have the money probably like so many here and it seems absurd and also indulgent.
I thought if I have money spare I should give it to any one of the charities that I care about, the one I swam for on New Year's Day, the Hospice, Venture Scotland (which I learnt about through blip) ... you name it, there are so many other very good and worthy causes .... but this is a bit different ....
Today I did lots of 'extraordinary' things ....
1) Ma
oops I got cut off in my moment of passion .... beware ... impassioned plea ahead amber warning .....
1) I took a photo before it rained
2) I set the timer so that I could jump on a rock in my passionate moment thinking about the importance of blip
3) ... eventually, and out of focus (see 'outtakes' in extras)
4) I looked at an ancient stone circle, thought of its symbolism, and hoped blip wouldn't just become a archaeological site
5) I saw a very empty path ahead, with no-one on it and felt how sad it would be if that was what the future held
6) I saw tiny blades of grass looking exquisitely beautiful and wanted to show you lot (extra)
7) I thought and 'talked' and engaged with the blip community in my head as I walked - blip can help a process, linking seeing, noticing, caring, capturing, reflecting, communicating ...
8) I thought about all the people who might benefit in future
9) I thought about my husband and how he would have loved blip if he had known about it. It would have helped him so much through the difficult stages of his illness
10) I thought of all those beautiful introverts out there (thinking of my conversation with kendall) and the home that there is for them here
11) I thought of all those who wanted to share with us why pasta comes in spiral shapes (I think I know the answer to that one), all the remarkable bits of information and of the 'challenges' both personal and general
12) I thought of the opportunity for those to share ideas, for creativity, political thoughts, local, national, international
13) I thought blip covers all, it offers a place for young and old, it is not one cause, it is many, and so can include and incorporate diversity
14) I thought I could support Mind, or the Samaritans, or the Silverline, or Sane, or the Big White Wall, or Age UK, or , or, or .... you get my drift ... these are unique (and wonderful places) but blip is something else and offers a home for all and any of these ....
15) I could go on but if you've got this far you will be needing more sustenance and a stiff drink ....
16) What I will say though is, each 'extraordinary' thing is only mine and only small, but it all adds up to a great extraordinary story of everyday life and blip helps me to meet each new day and carries me forward ....
17) ... and if anyone wants to join me and jump in a lake (or watch and laugh) next weekend and pledge a tiny bit more .... LET'S DO IT .....
18) ... I can't believe I just said that ....
