Benedict fixes most things
After discovering the girls' room filled with two boxes and a large black garbage bag worth of rubbish and junk, we spent the best part of 5 hours spring cleaning. When I say we, I really mean me. The girls looked on in amazement as long forgotten crap was discovered in parts of their room they were oblivious to even existing. I'm surprised nests of mice or ants weren't discovered. Seriously, girls are gross. The 3 month old puppy takes better care of his property. I worry about when they will grow up enough to take care of their own things. Because if I have to keep trawling through their junk to make sure my carpet is still intact (don't even ask me what is smeared over the floor, I'll cry) there will be 2 children requiring new homes. Or less things. I'll decide on which later.
In summary: children should be kept in minimalist, wipable rooms. And if you don't have such a room, make eggs benedict for dinner... It'll make things seem that little bit more bearable.
