Ephipany-- Little Christmas Night

End of the Christmas Season before everything is put away for the year... Wise men and camels arrive at the altar before evening mass and set up with the Youth musicians tuning up with adults.
Prior to Mass someone gave me a calendar from the National Cathedral of Mary in Washington D.C. Each month has a work of art of the Madonna with Child.
A 4 year old little girl sitting in front of me and I were chatting, as you do. She looked at my calendar and I explained that it was dedicated to Mary. She asked about the different pictures. I said none of them really look like Mary since there were no cameras (or blips) at the time. She, her name is Rain (or Reign), assured me that she knows what Mary looks like because she has seen her. I always take such information seriously when it comes from youngsters.
She said that she saw her. It was in the forest. I agreed that we can see many great things in a forest.
Then she pointed to one of the small photos on the back of the calendar showing all the months.
"This is just what she looks like," the little girl declared. "That artist has made her just right. That is how I saw her."
"Oh?'
"Yes. Now what is his name?" she asked.
I looked in the small print. "Oh, yes, he is a good artist indeed. His name is Raphael."
Rain said, "Well, he made her just like I see her."
I pointed out that she could draw her own picture of Mary and Jesus, if she wanted. But she shook her head doubtfully.
A delightful child who I met later again after mass at the big party. She made my evening most memorable.

The Extra photo is at the Afterward party. The 'singing section' included Kathy, the music director and young musicians. The young boy is becoming quite a guitarist.  The girl in the pink shirt, Rain, is "singing" with the others... not that she can read yet...
