Rio Museum of Image
This extraordinary building on the front of Copacabana beach will be a magnificent contribution to the area's visual landscape. It's too soon to say for sure and this is only a back view taken from a narrow street. The individually placed ceramic tiles show what I think are Marylin's lips. The image changes as one progresses along the street. A couple of far seeing upmarket establishments specialising in oysters and on-site brewed beers, respectively, have opened just behind where I took this shot. Profits assured for some.
Speaking about images, I worry about the slow uptake of shares or donation opportunities to secure Blip's future. A bit of wakening up to reality is needed and also the relatively little per head necessary. £30 each per 6,000 members and the deed is done providing £180,000. £300 from 600 members and we get to this same result. Anywhere in between will do the job nicely.
It does not seem too much when seen in these terms but the current total of £80,000 does seem low after all the effort . . . I feel we should begin to help people see that even a modest donation of £30 would be a very positive contribution and of course any multiple of that would be fantastic.
I really would not want to wake up to blank screen with all my nearly six years of blips and hundreds of daily contacts lost.
Time for us all to do our bit. And I won't stop saying this until the deed is done.
