New beginnings

The old Port Appin is now completely gone.  The new Port Appin is well under way and the enlarged harbour ramp is starting to be detailed.  Lots to do.

I always have a laugh when I mention 'new' Port Appin…  Many years ago there was a little petrol station in Penruddock run by two brothers.  I bought all my petrol there when I was over in the Lakes.  Penruddock was a sleepy ribbon development village along the route of the old A66 and Roman road.  In the 1990's they built some new housing down by the old Cockermouth, Keswick and penrith Railway track bed.  The two brothers always referred to it as Penruddock New Town.  A sense of humour as dry as dust.
