Anyone for a walk on the promenade?

Well there are mornings when the plan is
not without its hazards ! This most
Southerly section of Scarborough's
seafront promenade extends round the
perimeter of what used to be the South
Bay Pool. Indeed the promenade came
much later than the Pool which was
built in the early 20th Century. Until that
time, indeed afterwards at times, waves
could overtop the wall of the Pool which
little mattered as it was a seawater Pool
the attraction of which diminished towards
the end of the last Century which saw a
growing preference for heated water!
