Day 1: Sapporo to Kushiro Wetland National Park

Riding on a train departed at 6am, T and I embarked on a journey to see winter Hokkaido. Since our free pass allows only local trains, we had to change trains many times. It was 6pm when we arrived at the destination of the day, Touro Station in Kushiro Wetland National Park. From Sapporo to Kushiro, we had been with a father and his daughter who are railway fans. Thanks to them, the long railway journey was not dull.

Had soba for lunch at Obihiro Station, and Ramen for dinner at a market in Kushiro.

We stayed overnight at a youth hostel in the national park.
