Barr Castle

Today's blip is one I have looked at thousands of times when we return from our runs (in the car) to Largs. I've often looked at it and said I must stop one day and do a picture so today it is. I had my camera with me but today's blip is again on the phone. Barr Castle in Lochwinnoch is a 15th century keep overlooking Barr Loch, rising to four storeys, which was altered in the 16th century (and probably later, too). The gables of the castle have collapsed, apart from the chimney stack which juts up into the sky. Not much survives of the former courtyard of the castle. The main hall was on the first floor, reached by a turnpike stair, which continued to the rooms on the upper floors. Nice to be back in Scotland.
