"Just A Spoonful Of Sugar Helps The Medicine

This morning I went and sat with Mum's best friend's daughter Meghan, she is basically my sister and her brothers Seamus and Reuben my brothers too :)

12 year old Megs broke her ankle ice skating on Friday and shattered it completely meaning a new metal ankle for her, lots of morphene and 122 movies to choose from at the hospital!

She came home yesterday and because Reuben had a cello exam she was home alone. So I went round and spent the morning with her.

We speant awhile mastering crutches and navigating the wheelchair round the kitchen table before she decided to amuse herself with her Moshi Monstor at www.moshimonstors.com.

This was when I decided to make gingerbread hearts and stars for us to decorate :)

The end result was three trays of warm soft gingerbread, me and Meghan juggling the tray of gingerbread, the bowl of icing and the smarties between her wheelchair and my knees and smiles all round.

Unfortunately for her she missed her drama exam on the day of the accident, her Westburn Intermediate Special Music Programme assessment and handing in her English poster, all of which she was incredibly upset about but now she's all focussed on getting better and taking everything as it comes. It's going to be a long 3 months but she's a tough wee thing.
