Sweet honey cake for the new year
A good friend invited me for lunch today, and she made her traditional southern foods for a new year - black-eyed peas, collards, corn bread, and this luscious and beautiful honey cake. We had ginger soda, and beautiful china to set the table and it was perfectly lovely. C is a regular renaissance woman - she sews, quilts, spins her own yarns, and knits and loves her garden too. Her fabric collection was to die for! I'm inspired to work on the quilt I'm making now.

Happy New Year!
