It was pretty quiet down at Mersehead this morning. Jess enjoyed her first-ever visit to a beach.

This afternoon we opened our presents - this tradition started ten years ago in our family and in those days there was plenty of protest at the idea, but now we treat it as normal. An extra week of Christmas shopping and plenty of bargains to be had in the sales.

I'm losing track of what day of the week it is...
