Sun Moon Lake
On the first day of our Taiwan trip, we went out for a day trip to Taichung and visited Sun Moon Lake. With 3 days' Taiwan High Speed Railway pass, we took a high speed train from Taipei to Taichung for 40 mins. However, since the lake is one of the popular tourist places, there was such a long queue to wait for a bus from the station to the lake. We were probably waiting for a hour in the queue and seemed having spent our morning only for transportation. It's alright, this is how a trip is like. Anyway, we ended up reaching the lake area at noon. Sun moon lake is the most largest lake in Taiwan and it is famous with the beauty and is mentioned that the east side of the lake resembles the sun while the west side resembles the moon, hence the name. But it was unfortunately foggy all day when we visited there so we couldn't tell if the resembling was right. Around the lake, we were just having a walk on a footpath, taking photos and enjoyed its vibe. After, we left the lake in the early afternoon, we didn't want to miss a bus, and came back to Taipei.
At night, we went out for Shilin night market, which is one of the biggest night markets in Taipei. We had an oyster omelet for dinner and later we just randomly dropped by stalls in the night market, which is the thing you must do in Taiwan. The extra photo is the oyster omelet.
