Inverness and the Beauly Firth, with the last sunset of the year approaching. Near zero (Celsius) all day. Brief cycle to town for some victuals. Place was busy, shelves were empty of bread and milk... I didn't hang about. Have hardly seen anyone this past week, so it was a bit of a shock to the system. The road seemed so much nosier than usual - possibly a combination of the traffic volume, and more folk using Winter tyres? More likely just me keeping away from it all.
Thanks to the folk that set up this site, and those that have kept it going - long may that continue. "I'm in", as they say, and by a good bit more than the average... that's still the case when you halve the pledged amount to cover both journals!
Thank you to all that have too generously given me stars and hearts/favourites over the year(s)... despite me not being keen on the things, and hoping to be able to disable them someday (as was partially the case on the original site)! I ain't worthy. Have put in very little effort this past year, and like the old school reports frequently used to say, "Could do better." Not much achieved all around in 2015. The year very much drifted by. So many lows, for so many. Here's wishing a much better year in 2016 for all - here, there, everywhere.
A bit shocked. Have just heard that a kayaker died on the River Findhorn yesterday. I know a lot of the local kayaking community, and plenty others from further afield. Have kayaked that particular stretch of the river many times, but not in recent years, and never in spate conditions. Tragic news.
