Little big boy

Tonight, our baby big is asleep in his big boy bed.
I feel really odd about it.
The monitor isn't bleeping at me as we need to turn this off otherwise if he gets out of bed the alarm will go off.,
His cot stands empty
He looks so small and vulnerable.

Or maybe it's simply that I don't like today.
Too much expectation thrust into one night.
Too many false promises

Instead, I'm off to bed, tomorrow will be a new day, a new year, an exciting year of sorts.

We have some fabulous friends who have exciting times ahead of them, we have wonderful friends who deserve a break.

But most of all we have eachother and two wonderful, if exhausting and sleep depriving, children.
