Goosander

No 3 grandson decided that, as it was Thursday, he was going to play at Granny & Grandad's, which was okay by us.
He played well all morning with his Dad's and aunt's old toys (I found a miniature kitchen which was very popular) and after lunch he decided a walk to the ponds was in order. There were about 12 goosanders, 7 tufted ducks, 7 swans, 3 mallards, 1 moorhen & lots of black-headed gulls.
Poohsticks didn't work as the strong current in the burn just pulled them under - but small boys always seem to love playing with sticks.
Once home he did a bit more playing before running out of steam and curling up for stories before it was time to go home.
Oh, yes, and the cold is improving and I managed a very short run.
