A good slide

As the Germans say "Einen guten Rutsch (ins neue Jahr)" or as a  Bavarian may  mumble with a knowing nod of the head "Kimm guad umi". Both mean the same have a good "slide / skid" in to the New Year i.e. it is only for use up until midnight. Then it's "gutes neues Jahr" or the now very drunk Bavarian saving energy for the second half of the party : "guads Neis".

Thought I should Blip the "Winners of 2015" for the final Blip and I nominated myself for "Losers of 2015" for my photographic skills.

Flash has to earn the award for his 13th New Years Eve and probably 12 of which he has been on duty, just as he is 24/7. despite his "he won't survive the operation" judgement in April 2014. He simply refuses to leave us and the animals at the mercy of that scatterbrained Luna who only has eyes and ears for frisbees..

Especially for the Blip I let him in to the geese. He can herd anything, yes anything EXCEPT geese - the simply don't follow any rules. Still he takes it very seriously and I had difficulty getting him away when he himself knew he hadn't achieved anything,

Secondly the geese are winners - they shouldn't have been seeing a sunrise in 2016. I was determined they would be gone by Christmas.

All the animals indoors now for the last few hours. Shortly before midnight the radio in the horse stable will start blaring and the one in the living room for the dogs - lessens the impact of our village shooting the equivalent of the GDP of Haiti in to the foggy drizzly night sky. One says the more miserable the news has been during the year, the more fireworks get shot.

We won't be sending any up but the "B's" will be walking over to the hill opposite our entrance and from about 200m will give us a short display.

Wishing one and all that they get over safely in to the New Year and above all for the immediate moment wish all those in the flooded northern UK a peaceful night, dry feet and a very wet throat!
