Starry Night New Year's Abstract

There were a few noteworthy abstract art events this past week that I wanted to share. One is the passing of abstract artist Ellsworth Kelly whose minimalist style turned a few heads and influenced many more.

The other is a movie called "Beltracchi: Die Kunst dear Falsci", The Art of Forgery.
A mesmerizing and thought-provoking documentary on the life of Wolfgang Beltracchi who tricked the art world for forty years, selling paintings of early 20th century masters. Starring himself. It skirted his time in prison but explored in depth his ability to replicate and invent artwork that made him many millions.

Your own abstracts and daily photos could be worth millions some day. But it is necessary to keep Blipfoto here, as the major reason you were able to make those millions.
Support the cause so that it may support your daily fix.

Two nights ago we watched the wonderful "Far From The Madding Crowd".
Last night we watched "Far From Men". An exquisite stark exploration of the middle of nowhere Algeria in 1954. Showing how war and cultures clash (as it continues to happen every day) and how your own world will implode on you, even if you are standing on the sidelines minding your own business. Starring Viggo in his foreign language best.

And then there is the Abstract Thursday Challenge which prevents your world from imploding by giving you the freedom to release your creative juices. Happy New Year! And use AT27 so that we can all hang out together in our own socially responsible group Idaho. I will be trying to check in but as mentioned earlier this week, the times have caught with me.

This is turning into one of my longer posts. Not my usual blip and have- to-run style but do not forget to catch up on the latest from Blip Central Blog regarding the January 1 "blip".
