Given the bright sunshine, Jess opted to have breakfast al fresco. In the background, Molly hovers, ready to scoop up anything ig Jess leaves a few crumbs.

But on the right is this afternoon's prediction from a weather forecasting site (look at it in LARGE. If it is anywhere near correct, then I don't think that tea will be an outdoor picnic!

4pm has come and gone. No sign of the forecast deluge. Instead, the day is sunnier even than it was at 10.20, and perhaps this is the hottest day of the year so far. Yet in Edinburgh I heard from a friend on the phone that it is still the dreichist of outlooks.
