Heading North

Headed off up the road to Inverness for a nephew's wedding.

The A9 is a pain in the bum.
Average speed cameras all the way up - no problem ...... apart from drivers who drive way below the permitted speed, miles of reduced speed limits for road works (which are not working for the holiday) and opposing traffic making it impossible to overtake.
At one point we were stuck behind somebody travelling at 35mph for flaming miles. He must have thought it was a lovely clear road - not a thing in front of him, but if he had looked in his mirror he would have seen about 100 vehicles snaking away out of sight behind him.

We stopped off for a coffee in Pitlochry with our friends at the youth hostel.
We also stopped just short of Inverness to meet up with SWMBO's brother and family who were over from Washington, Florida and Kabul for the wedding (The parents work for the US State Dept).
