Pier of the Year 2015 - Cromer

So here we are on the penultimate day of what has been an utterly crap year. 2015 I want to forget you. I can't begin to put my feelings into words, but I know the people who have to endure me on a daily basis, have had it all year - one way or another. So sorry to you all about that. I used to be so good at bottling up my feelings, but not any more. Perhaps it's age! But I don't want to write all this negative stuff tomorrow as New Years Eve is always a day to be celebrated. Neither do I want to mention it the following day, as we will be into 2016. So it's done. 2015, good riddance!

Today has been lovely! After a night where I dreamt over & over that I'd lost the tickets for today's show, I was relieved to wake (pretty late, mind you) and discover it had been a horrible dream.

I washed my car & did some washing then Jon & I went for a nice walk around the village. It's the only time we talk through plans, so we did a bit of planning for our future - well, ideas anyway.

Back home we had just enough time to have lunch and change, before heading into Cromer for the end of the pier Christmas Show. Together with mum & dad we were all seated in time for the curtain up at 2.30pm. Then ensued 2 hours of fun, laughs, music, magic and proper old fashioned entertainment. We forgot quite quickly that we were seated suspended, several hundred metres out over the North Sea. The Pier of the Year 2015 didn't let us down! How many people can say their local pier has achieved that accolade?! (I suppose, how many people can say they have a local pier!) that part of our new life still feels like we're on holiday. I hope I never tire of a walk on the pier.

It was dark when we came out, and we headed straight to the fish & chip shop. It is still the holidays after all! Mary Janes is still our first choice of Cromer chip shops. Then home to sit about, eating & drinking more rubbish.

Looking forward to celebrating the last day of my forties tomorrow with all my closest family, to ensure this horrible year really does end at midnight without any more nasty surprises!
