Heat Exchangers
Today, a new blower motor was installed on my furnace. The blower assembly had to be removed for the motor replacement. During that time and lying on my back, I stuck my head into the blower compartment and took an iPhone photo of the heat exchangers. A little rust was evident, but not too bad. So where did the water come from? Probably the air conditioning coil atop the furnace had frozen up at some time in the past.
Cell phone photos are tremendously useful at obtaining images in difficult places. They are especially good at reading nameplates. Looking upside down and trying to read a nameplate through bifocals was a challenge in my past life.
By the way the heat exchangers do not leak because a test showed the heat output had no carbon monoxide.
