Flood Plain

Although Storm Frank was predicted to bring heavy rain today it wasn't anywhere near as bad as expected (thankfully) so during a dry spell this afternoon Mr MD and I took Polly dog for a walk around Centre Vale Park, Todmorden.
When they 'improved' the flood defences along the River Calder, this park was allocated to be used as an emergency 'flood plain' to relieve the pressure on the river.
0n Boxing Day the whole of this park was under water.   Hard to believe.
