Storm Frank

Storm Frank has battered the isles over night and for the most of the day.  Showers at times and the gales have been blowing. 

Still not feeling well with this cold but taking plenty of paracetamol to help.  I've managed to get out with Sammy, avoiding the showers the best I could.  Met mam in the afternoon and we picked up niece Elise from Burra and headed into Lerwick, were we met big bro Jonny and family.  We went to see grand aunt Bunty and uncle Drew, cousin David was home too.  Off to work in the pub tonight and it's the last shift of the year :)  

Storm Frank has been causing damage and upset to some areas throughout Shetland.  It's mainly the east coast that's taking the hit but places like Scalloway on the west have been getting some flooding with the high tides.  Some roads in Lerwick had to be closed today with floods, stones and also debris washing up.  Here at Breiwick Road, the police had to be called in to close the road for public safety at the height of the storm.  Think there will be a lot of windows and cars needing a wash too :)
