The tail end of Frank!
Crikey - what a wild night as Frank roared around outside. In fact it was even wilder at around 9.30 this morning when all hell was being let loose, then suddenly the winds dropped and a bit of sunshine appeared! Incredible how it could just change. We dropped everything and headed out whilst we could, walking down to Reenmore. Even though the winds had dropped the seas were enormous - huge waves billowing about all over the place. Later on we went over to the north side to have a look, via Durrus, and great chunks of the sea wall had disappeared with rocks and stones all over the road. I think we've escaped the worst though, and are lucky to still have electricity and a dry house. I was reading about the situation at Belfast airport where a flight just landed from Gatwick had to remain on the tarmac for 4 hours because the winds were too ferocious to open the doors! And the next storm - Gertrude - is already gathering strength.
Thank you for the concern over my ear - I still can't hear much but it's feeling more comfortable.
The extra is a mass photography session going on down at Reenmore!
And still time to pledge or even pledge again - just over the £70,000 currently.
