Port Vila

As a wee boy I remember reading a National Geographic magazine.
In it one of the articles was about young men jumping of a 90 ft platform with vines tied to their ankles bungy style.But only at a certain time of year .
This happened only a few Islands away.
A local told me of a story about when the Queen came to visit in the 60s a young Islander wanted to jump for the Queen.
Apparently it was the wrong month of the year and the vines were britle and he died.
