Those were the ....

Those were the days. I believe the most of us remember the car, some still running, some older fewer will remember the station. I do, but not sure if I remember the Standard brand. When I was at sea working onboard an oil tanker - carrying oil for Standard Oil mainly from the  Persian Gulf, I learnt that S for Standard = ESS and O for Oil = O which gave the name ESSO. ESSO still here. BP not. Things have changed.  This petrol station will probably live long as it is taken care of at the Norwegian Folk Museum in Oslo. They should find an older car though as you still see that Beetle in the streets.
