Growing old disgracefully

By GOD

DOWN BY THE LOCH

The wondrous Andy came out in the middle of his holiday to repair the hole left by the missing slate,  so we are now waterproof - for the moment anyway.  When I moved here 24 years ago I was told the roof might last 10 years - if I was lucky.  Andy reports that it is still strong and given the recent windy weather, I feel content just to lose a couple of slates now and then.

We had our walk by the Loch today and I was pleased to see so many berries still in the hedgerows - food for the busy little goldcrests.  I almost captured an image of one, but it was startled by a bell from a passing bike.

An interesting new book arrived today (extra), so with that, a railway to build and my son and heir coming for dinner the rest of this lazy day should slide along nicely.

As part of my support for blip future, I have decided each day for a while to highlight one of the wonderful blippers I follow.  Kendallishere takes marvellous images, but her words inspire me more.  It's an enormous privilege to be able to read her journal daily.  We risk losing this if we don't act now, so if you haven't made a pledge yet, please do consider it now.
