Moving Into The Unknown

Frinsa

Frinsa is a world class Spanish purveyor of some of the most delicious seafood I've ever had.  I fell in love with their little shop across the street from Mercado San Miguel in Madrid.  Germán, seen here pouring me a fine glass of Spanish Rioja, was the best host.  He told me he's from Ávila, a small town about 45 minutes outside of Madrid and ringed by a Romanesque style medieval stone wall that once protected the city.  I was blown away by the great service and friendly demeanor of this fine young man.  I was equally impressed by the baby scallops, octopus, cockles, mussels and sardines from Galicia that they were serving me.  I went back to this gem of a place 4 or 5 times...it was that good.  Muchas gracias, Germán!
