A view from St Swithin

Glen Tanar

A horrible damp, foggy and dreich day in Aberdeen so we headed west to Aboyne where the weather was marginally better.
Had a tramp at Glen Tanar  and found we had the place almost to ourselves - suspect everyone else was having a lie in or shopping... . We came across this stone at the Knockie Bridge beside the Trout Loch - it relates to Queen Victoria's  50th ( Golden ) anniversary as Monarch .   I've walked past this spot countless times but this is the first time I'd notice the stone .
