The Captain's Club

We have been very well looked after at the hotel on the river. I awoke, only slightly subdued after the preceding evening’s Christmas meal. I forgot to mention that we progressed to a local pub afterwards, where we found my erstwhile colleague propping up the bar, quietly doing the crossword. Now in retirement, and work well behind him, he was pleased to see us rolled his eyes on seeing us.  

Back at the Captain's Club Hotel, I did my best to manage with the 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom suite all to myself. It's a tough life sometimes...
