Late Glimpse Of The Sun
After Kate, Joel & Sophie and Chris had gone back to their respective homes this afternoon, Tess & I took the opportunity for a stroll on Ham Wall Nature Resrve.
We arrived just as the sun made its first, and very belated, appearance through the clouds.
The reserve was very busy with people taking some post-Christmas exercise and gathering for the dusk starling murmuration.
Unfortunately, the starlings decided that a change is as good as a rest and started arriving about a mile further up the footpath than expected, causing a rapid migration of the very keen bird watchers in that direction.
We were parked in the other direction so headed home, being treated to one or two mini-murmurations on the way back to the car, but too far away to blip.
Time to catch up on Strictly, Downton and Dickensian which were chief among the few programmes we wanted to watch over Christmas; we never actually watch TV on Christmas or Boxing Day with cards and board games being the tradition.
