Mermaid

On my parents' 65th wedding anniversary, and their older son's 55th birthday, the effect of the midday, midwinter sun and the Christmas tree silhouette it casts on this painting by their youngest daughter is dramatic and could be seen as celebratory of the life they have led and the lives they have created and that surround them still.
