Mistletoe

After getting in the car to head over to mum and dad's late yesterday afternoon, I suddenly felt the countdown to Christmas and began to relax after a bit of a frantic day.

More and more, I detest the whole commercialism of Christmas but this is family time. And that part is still the heart of Christmas for me.

I woke up just before sunrise this morning and spotted the mistletoe silhouetted against the amber sky. It was the wrong angle to catch the silhouette from outside so I waited for first light as the sun hit the berries.

The evening last night was simply relaxed chatting. Today has been more of the same combined with lunch, a few mooches round the garden to pick out some logs to take home from tree trimming and a walk to the shops.

We've since headed to Rich's parents for Christmas itself and enjoyed a meal, chatter and a bit of festive TV.
