Stranded Alpacas

Despite the weather, I was still determined to have a Boxing Day walks. We set off down through the village to see how high the river had got, not for a minute expecting the park to be flooded. The flood sign being rather surplus to requirements now (extra). We chose the slightly dryer option along the canal path and whilst the rest of the family headed back up the hill at Hirst Wood, I opted to carry on climbing up to Gilstead, through Milnar Fields and back along to the other side of Roberts Park.

Back home to dry off, warm up with some tasty homemade soup and put my feet up for the afternoon.
