Black-winged Stilt(juvenile)

This juvenile Stilt came over to see what I was up to in my Wadi, as you can see she's been having a rest on some very green pond weed and her white feathers are very stained. Her bill looks amazingly sharp and dagger like and must be a very effective tool. I love these birds and this is a very pretty young Stilt. The extras are of Christmas day sandwiches and fizzy grape juice out on a bird spotting trip( proper Christmas dinner in the evening) and a lovely shot of a local Omani restaurants beautiful Christmassy display, just for us expats! They really make an effort here and Christmas is definitely not banned here in Oman.
