Cracker novelty haul
I hope all in blipland had a very merry Christmas and, more importantly those of you threatened again with flooding are safe and secure.
We spent most of Christmas Day with David's brother's family in their lovely house in Colinton. A very good Christmas dinner was followed by a quiz and a board game called Logo. As you can see the crackers provided the usual haul of uesful, not so useful and mystifying novelties. I had the orange thing with the two disks but no idea what to do with it. We decided that the disks could be fired by pressing the spring but couldn't work out the purpose. What I should also have done is arrange all the "jokes" too as I can't remember any of them now.
The quiz did include a couple of teezers from crackers though; "What does the Queen call her Christmas Broadcast"? and "What was the result of Santa's speed dating experience"? If you can't guess I'll tell you tomorrow.
Logo was a game based on, you've guessed it, commercial brand logos. It was interesting and did what is was supposed to do on a Christmas afternoon.
We didn't open presents until we arrived back in Balerno; so it was gone 8.00pm before the great unwrapping began. Before that I was able to talk to Chris and De'Shaun in San Diego where the temperature was a cool 17C but the skies cloudless and also exchange Christmas good wishes with Matthew.
The evening was rounded off with nibbles and TV, watching "Stick Man" and "Call the Midwife" All in all, a lovely day. I hope yours was too.
